FatCat Year in Review

What a year this has been! Although we haven’t written much on here, it has been busy!

In March, we participated in the first Dudeapalooza, hosted by Olde Mecklenberg Brewery. If you live in Charlotte and still haven’t checked out the new location, go. You won’t be disappointed! We met a storm trooper too!

This June we had Bulldog Beer & Wine‘s Craft Beer & BBQ Bazaar:

This market was a lot of fun! A friend of mine for several years now was planning it and invited us to be a part of it. The staff at Bulldog is so friendly and since this venue was close to home, it was an awesome way to get to check out a new local bar & hang out with awesome people!

This Summer, we were accepted for the first time as vendors at the Vintage Charlotte Summer Market! This time it was held at a new venue, and 3500+ people came to shop!  There is nothing better than getting to interact in person with your customers. At this market, we had a woman buy a vintage radio from us which she had been searching for years!

Then this Fall we had the Farm Fresh Fair at the Farm at Rabon Creek near Greenville, SC. It was such a gorgeous setting and who doesn’t love a market that includes getting to play with donkeys?!

There was the Vintage Charlotte Winter Market this November. This time it was back at The Fillmore Charlotte at NC Music Factory!

And Small Business Saturday meant there were TONS of markets in Charlotte! We were invited to participate in Dudeapalooza at Unknown Brewing Co. and had a blast!

The final market we participated in was slightly different. Vintage Charlotte tried out their first pop up shop in Uptown Charlotte. Vendors who previously participated in the regular markets were invited to sell merchandise at this 10 day event! This meant that vendors catalogued and priced their items, but were not present during the shop’s operating hours, unless they volunteered to help or were there doing some of their own shopping! The final bit of FatCat-related news for this year, and then I will wrap up, is that Chris and I quit our jobs to focus solely on our business! Leaving our respective jobs was difficult, as we had each been working with some people as long as 10 years, but this has proved to be an incredibly rewarding career path so far. This year has had plenty of personal trials for both Chris and myself, but we both look forward to growing this business and getting to know/meeting a lot of amazing & passionate people along the way!
